| The Great Bathroom Debate: Do I cover up this pretty view for privacy, or do I not worry about the view from the unfinished road just to the right, because people rarely go down it. The view, is actually more or less the same as from both my bedroom, and kitchen/living. |
| I was thinking something like this, because who wants blinds getting humid and dusty in a bathroom? |
| The one corner of our backyard... NOTE that it looks smooth. It actually slopes quite a bit from the road. That is the road that I have some nudity bathroom concerns about. occasionally kids ride their bikes down, or a city utilities truck will park and take a nap. |
| We had a big coupon, so he got a mower |
| Naturally it didn’t stay in the box long. Brett can’t let things sit in boxes. |
| good thing too... now he can, um, mow our “lawn." |
IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE...
You know, they type of cookie that moves dirt from one side of the yard to the other...
| So Brett said “ Can I borrow your skidsteer?” The neighbor said,“sure.” And that was the beginning of the closest non-family member friendship I have ever seen Brett have. Brett helps him do yard stuff occasionally. The neighbor laughs at B’s sunburnt face at church... It’s real deep people. Only other thing close is the guy we played board games with for a few months... but he moved. |
| Man Move dirt. |
| Man drive machine. |
| You think I took too many pictures? Ha!!! Brett’s mom took videos. That’s right, plural. |
| Whenever Brett borrows the Skid Steer ( I really need to learn how to spell that), E likes to sit by the door and watch, or stops eating in his high chair and watches. |
| After the first day borrowing the Skidamariemadooooo, the hill is more defined, and then, he created a second ditch where he kept stealling dirt. He was going to smooth that down on the left, but I liked it. |
| Renting a mini skidsteer (sp?) to dig up the sidewalk area... because apparently he was getting too buff doing it the slow way with a shovel. ( But really, it took 3 evenings to do 1/10, and one half day on this to finish the rest |
| Then He rented this thing to dig out the sprinklers |
| at the begining of the sprinkler dig... it actually looks... um... rediculous now. Dirt piles EVERYWHERE. Criss crossing and what not. |
| 8 fruit trees, in one little bundle, and a really messy box to unpack them from on a windy day |
| I had fun ( and stress) picking out my tree varieties. We gotta wait next year for one of my plums though. So sad. Cherries are mostly B’s choice, cause he likes those more than I. |
| This is the most recent photo I have of that corner of the lot. He’s done some touch up on it, and now there are some fruit trees (aka “sticks” )at the top, and a big ditch going along the top where he is going to run the sprinkler/drip/something. |
I only havent shown you the left corner, because it is just flat and we have no friggin clue what we are going to do there.
My Dirt....
| Mostly Tomatoes. I had to re transplant my sprouts from dixie cups to the family size yogurt cups. They go out on the deck for day, and come in at night. but I should be able to transplant soon? Stupid late frost in Utah. |
| Some herbs. Cilantro and Dill are really happy. |
| B’s Step mom in law got me a mother’s day gift (um, I’m not her mother?) So I had to get some dirt and plants to put in it. Top is thyme, then we have peppermint and chocolate mint. |
| peas! |
| itty bitty kale, purple and green. |
| lettuce |
| I saved the bottom white bulb from green onions and transplanted them. They’ve done well |
| and the itty bitty seedlings I iplanted next to them. |
| spinach |
