How to add a survey

Most of you will probably want to skip this. It is only occasionally funny, if that. It is a tutorial for mia momma. I know my mom can figure this out, for heavens sake, she took HTML, but atas... this WYSIWYG is getting the best of her. We are obviously staring at different screens, so it is hard to teach via chat.

(I'm sure you know this, but if you click on the image in my blog, you can see it larger. Then just use the back button to return to my blog)

LETS START LET'S START LET US START!!!

Log in. In Dashboard you will see this white box that lists your blogs, or blogs you are members of. for the blog you wish to edit select the blue layout link

Good job. Now you should confirm 2 things. First that you are on the layout tab, second, that you are on the page elements sub tab. Now, look in the tan box for the blue "add page element" link. You have one on the right and one at the bottom. I selected the one on the right for you (because if you put it on the bottom, no one ever sees it).

when you click that link you will get this pop up window shown bellow. You will not have tom selek in the background unless you are working on my coworker's computer. Lucky me. top right option is to ad a poll(see the black letters that say "poll?") now click the blue box below it that says "add to blog" in white letters.

You will get this pop up window shown bellow:

fill it out, and click the pretty orange save button.

And Charlotte said "look" and mom looked. ANd she beheld that the surveys title was listed where "ad page element had once been, and that a new "ad page element had snuck back in above it.

And now save again, this time on the layout page.

Now you will get a message telling you your changes were saved. it also lets you view your blog. click on the blue "View your blog"

Oh wow! hark! what is this? a survey?

So you see it, but you decide that you think you don't like it where it is at. YOu want to move it down, so that Nathanial, Tiffany, and fam is still near the top. Go to the top of the window and select "customize"

THis will take you back to the layout page. Confirm that you are on the layout AND page elements tab

Put your curser in the dark tan area of the box that represents your survey (this one was called "YEs or no". Your curser will probably turn into a glove/hand tool (not shown). Click, hold down the click, and drag the box to the position you want it in. Release the click.

Now you see that "yes or now" is now below "pretty family" (aka Nanials family and not mine... I get it. I'm old enough to know the truth).

by moving something you've changed your layout. Now remember to save!

And view your pretty blog...

Now the survey is bellow your pretty family. see the tools below/to the right?

If you click on those tools you can edit your survey (once people vote, you can only really change the end date or remove it. See the remove button ( this is the pick from an earlier step, so ignore the black circles and just look at the remove button)? wasn't that fun!!!

Journey to the promise land

Start pressuring my husband to go to the doctor please. Something looking like his rash has made its way onto my forearm...which his weird, because he has it allover his torso, but not bellow or above it. couple days old though, and no additional patches have cropped up just yet

when it rains, it poors

... that is pretty much how my blogging goes.

I should be in bed right now, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I've been redesigning my homepage...funny how I never finished the homepage and I'm already redesigning it.

I feel like when I get to California, I can finally start marketing myself. I just didn't like the whole idea of wasting my time up here when I would be moving. But with 2 months to go, it is time to get motivated.

Not much yet, but better than my last home page, don't you think? I just have to get mr. B to help me HTML it, pick out some pics, and design the rest of the site.... (oh... ya, and shoot my Senior project and go to work and pack up the apartment).

Never been one

I have never really wanted to go blonde. I was blonde when I was younger, but by the time I reached Jr. High I was straddling the line between blonde and brown. I've died my hair red, brown, and reddish brown... lately I've taken to low lighting my hair, but I have a new desire.

I saw some pics of my sister with blackish hair, and I think she pulls it off really really well. If she can pull it off with her pale skin, than I too might be able too. I've been afraid to go a deep brown because of my pastiness, but Now I am tempted. just need to decide if I want to do a deep brown, or wannabe asian black (not to be confused with wannabe caucasian brass).

Speaking of wannabe asian, I'm pretty sure I was supposed to marry a french speaking asian-american ambassador... we were going to have beautiful half asian children (I'd noticed they always seamed to come out beautiful). Man I've really failed most the goals I set for myself in H.S.

They didn't lie

I've always harbored this desire to drive a motorcycle.

I know, I know... a few of you are thinking I married the first man who let me drop his motorcycle... but I assure you, I have standards. I'm quite sure I could have road into the sunset on the back of Gustav's crotch rocket a whole year before I dated Brett... but come on, that was a wimpy bike.

In all seriousness, that guy was creepy. Any guy that keeps asking you and your roommate if you'd ever make out even after you've repeatedly said "H@!! no!" has got some serious problems. Come to think about it, I met more creepy boys when I lived in that house Than I have anywhere else. Oddly enough, I probably had the most crushes that year too (but not on the creeps, I like 'em prude, especially when they blush).

Tangent aside, this was going to be the year I got my motorcycle license. Deep down inside I know that the day I get pregnant, it will probably be too late and I'll lose motivation. When B got his new bike he knew that he ran the risk of me driving it. I clearly stated that it would be our secondary vehicle, not his. I thought at the time that it was simply a risk he was willing to take, but he's actually the one who reminded me I should get my license. For some reason he thinks it will be easier to get up here than it will be in California.

So part of the plan was to save money to take a rider corse It costs money, but it has a good reputation of making safer riders, and as an added bonus you DON'T HAVE TO TAKE A DRIVERS TEST to get a Ut Motorcycle license (just the written/ permit test). OHhhh... and They provide the bike and helmet, so I can learn on something shorter and ruin someone elses helmet.

They say their classes fill up fast. Unfortunately, they didn't lie (but everyone says that?!). Unless I want to drive to SLC, they are booked until mid july. even in SLC I'd have to do the weekday course in JUNE aaaaaaaaaaaghhhh. Now I am sad. I can do a semi privete lesson for 50 bucks more, but someone else has to sign up with me too. sob.

brett's... no, MY bike before the previous owner painted the tank & back matt black and added carbon fiber, etc. Shown without the passanger seat. I love MY orange rims.

BTW

By the way, I have bangs now... and since I am including a photo, you cannot pretend that you don't recognize me. And 'cause I have a nose high cold sore, you can't pretend you don't notice me either.

Free Job

I'm moving in JUne/July and need to find a replacement photographer for me at work. Let me know if you know someone who might be interested.

Stunt doubles

So, Austin's comment on b's photo reminds me of a story.

Back before we were dating, Brett's Jaw was "more defined," and when we were dating it seamed like twice a month some one would tell him he looked like Superman (smallville version, Tom Welling) He still gets this occasionally.

Well, before we were dating, one of my roommates or friends told me they thought Brett was cute because he looked like Clark Kent (At this point, I didn't no brett's name, btw, just recognized him).

So, once we did start dating, that kind of bugged me a bit, 'cause Lex Luther is way cuter then Clark Kent.

Not that B isn't attractive... he just can't compete with a baldy. Some men just pull that hairless look off so well.

oops.

Dang it. I Now I'll have to explain that last post when i run for president in 2012.

Still have deadlines

which is why, today, you will probably get several posts from me.

Current topic: "Your Butt is mine," what an odd phrase.

This is one of those posts you will probably read and think, "why would she tell us that?" Answer: I am bored, and I don't mind being embarrassed as long as I get to do it to myself.

Today I drew a flag on brett's butt cheek. Then I told him his butt was my territory. Odd, I know, but sometimes marriage evolves a lot of social deprivation... which is a subject of psychology perhaps even more fascinating than most.

He did kind of wonder what the heck I was doing, but I guess years of marriage has desensitized him a bit, and he just let me do it.

Sadly, I had to explain that it was a flag... that is how bad the Flag of Charlotte is.

Surgery

So, brett has these spots on his abdomen... and they seem to be multiplying and replenishing. The moved to the chest, and now the back.

They are biblical rashes.

They don't seem to be too worry some, just weird. The closest thing we can find online seams to be a form of rosatia (SP?) you can get on your torso, and which you can do nothing about. I think it is odd that it is classified as rosatia, because the torso version supposedly looks different and has nothing in common with the face kind. This leads me to wonder if they just ran out of names for rashes and skin irritations.

So today I told b, as his doctor, the bad news.

"I'm sorry Brett, but the only cure is incarceration."

"Incarceration? What is incarceration?... I have to go to jail?"

Brett guessed correctly. He has to go to jail.

I was thinking about the word incarceration, and decided it sounds medical. Think about it... Laceration, inebriation, sterilization, complications... Ok. in all honestly, there are several not medical words i could list that end in -tion, but frankly, that would weaken my point.

These are a few of my favorite Bretts.

last monday (1.5 weeks) I made brett model for me. He isn't very good (and hates doing it) but he loves me, and these are my favorite photos of him. I got glare happy. I was purposely rebelling against years of trying not to get glare. And then the other one I messed with color, 'cause sometimes I don't play around enough. I like how in the first one he looks like a pirate.

A break from work

I love how it is on tight deadlines that I decide I need to blog.

Here is a picture of me taken at work, sometime after we moved to our newer office location.

And this picture was taken only moments ago. I am wearing MY FAVORITE HAT, while listening to MY NEW FAVORITE PODCAST (My History Can Beat up YOur Politics), and Rocking out to my new favorite SONG TO GET STUCK IN YOUR HEAD ("Everything is not what it seams" by Selena Gomez)... which happens to be the theme song for MY CURRENT FAVORITE DISNEY CHANEL SHOW to watch while Brett is playing video games with his dad and I have nothing else to do in Salt lake (Wizards of Waverly Place).

Obviously I am not listening to the theme song while listening to the podcast... but like I said, it is my gets stuck in my head song.

I'm not sure how to ad a you tube vid, too lazy to look it up, so here is a link, for your wizardly pleasure

Holy Hannah!

OMGoodness. Miley Cyrus is the main artist at Stadium of FIre. How cool is that. 2nd event, Blue man group. intriguing

This is probably the coolest (and by coolest I mean funniest) Stadium of fire since I've been here. I have to admit I have a guilty pleasure... I like to watch Hannah Montana. Not a huge fan of The songs, but heck.

I know tickets are going to be impossible to get if you don't get them in the first hour, and unless you got a wristband after it was announced yesterday, then your only chance is to try to buy from the half of tickets they will sell friday online. They set a 25 tickets per person limit, and I know one person who intends to buy all 25 if her wristband number gets called. I also know people will pay ridiculous amounts of money to buy Hannah Montana tickets from scalpers... and I am not one of them. Let's face it, she is like 16 and sings songs about the double life she has in her TV show.

Brett and I have NEVER been to Stadium of fire, and it would be nice to go before we leave, but in all honesty, we bought brett a bicycle and a tent (okay, and I bought those 60 dollar curlers), so Living within our means means not going to stadium of fire. Stinko. I want to buy them anyway. too bad the cheapest tickets are the ones they have the least amount of.
